YAY Juice and Smoothies

Feel free to take this information to apply to your life and your juices and smoothies.  Many people delay in getting their body the best that it can be.  I think the mentality is  “it’s ok my body will be here tomorrow”.    However, it is important to take care of our body.  Most important thing is that it is never too late to take care of our body.   It is never too late to get on the right track the right path to better eating.  When we make the most of our body, when we take care of our body, we are making our body our tool.   I have always given the analogy of our body like a car. My dad was an auto mechanic. Therefore once again I will use a car analogy to help explain my point. We would take care of our vehicle, we wash our vehicle so why not wash our body cleanse our body with juices and smoothies if health permits.

 

Just like cleaning and washing a car we clean and wash out body.  Our body our tool. Keep in mind that some people require doctor approval for any type of fasting or fruit juice smoothie cleanse.  Reason being is that your medications might not work if you do certain things or might be accelerated if you do certain things.  Therefore just to be on the safe side ask your doctor.  Remember that  after the juice cleanse or smoothie cleanse your first meal is important. It might not be a wise decision to eat fried chicken and French fries after doing a juice or smoothie cleanse.  Why juice or smoothie cleanse if going to run to the fried foods the day after.  You get my point and my thinking of just cleaned the car and throwing mud all over the car.

 

Smoothies are a great.  You can make all types of smoothies.  The start is the BASE the liquid could be coconut milk, almond milk, rice milk, coconut water. The ingredients are the vegetables and fruits. The add ins are the almond butter, chia seeds, honey, whey protein power, pea powder.  How do I know what ingredients to make a smoothie out of ?  Well, what I do is use www.google.com to find out information about fruits and vegetables.  For example I might want to find out the benefits of spinach, or apple benefits and so on.  I google checked for bananas and found that bananas are high in potassium.  Pears reduce the risk of developing hypertension.  Spinach is high in Vitamin A.  Pineapple is high in Vitamin C.  Watermelon replaces electrolytes.  Celery is great for helping the skin glow.  Beets are great and help heart muscles.  Granola added to smoothies adds thickness and texture.  Cactus also called nopales are great as an inflammatory and reduce high blood pressure.  Sugar cane is “high in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese. Diseases like cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment and effective in fighting cancer, especially prostate and breast cancer.   At first I was unsure what add ins to add in my smoothies and juices so I did some research on  www.google.com

In conclusion, juices and smoothies are great despite doctor permission needed for some people we all have the capability to make our body our tool to the best allowed.  Once you find the benefits of the fruits and vegetables that are beneficial for you then it’s time smoothie time and juice time.  Frozen fruits are great however fresh fruits are my favorite.  The Acai is sold in the frozen fruits section.  You can combine items or just do one single item smoothie. I will combine Carrots and Oranges then add a splash of lemon. Their are days when I will just do a smoothie of apples. I use Coconut Water for the base and sometimes use Rice Milk or Almond Milk.  I sometimes add ice cubes especially if going out on a hot day. Some people like my next door neighbor will freeze his fruits and veggies the day before so they are cold. I have to confess that I have used some grocery store frozen fruits when I want a Mango smoothie in November.   Also many places sell fruit drinks and smoothies. Therefore up to you and you can definitely make your own fruit juice and fruit smoothie or just buy one somewhere.   Enjoy some of my favorite juice recipes below.

1.  Red Cleanse   24 ounces
 beets 4 pieces about 2 whole beets cut up
 parsley 2 handfuls
 carrots 4

 celery 4 pieces
 and a splash of fresh lemon juice

2.  Skin Rejuvenator   24 ounces
 beets 4 pieces about 2 whole beets cut up
 bell pepper ¾
 spinach 3 handfuls
 kale 4 leaves
 apple 1.5
 cucumber 2.5
 and a splash of fresh lemon juice

3.  Super Greens   24 ounces
 spinach 3 handfuls
 ginger 3 pieces
 kale 4 leaves
 apples 3 – 4
 and a splash of fresh lemon juice

4.  After party / Morning After   24 ounces
 beets 4 pieces about 2 whole beets cut up
 spinach 3 handfuls
 ginger 3 pieces
 kale 4 leaves
 coconut water ½ cup about 10 ounces +

5.  Immune Boost   24 ounces
 beets 4 pieces about 2 whole beets cut up
 parsley 2 handfuls
 garlic 1 large piece
 ginger 2 pieces

 orange juice about 12 ounces
 cayenne pepper sprinkle

6.  Green Goddess   24 ounces
 spinach 3 handfuls
