Getting a fresh squeezed juice and/or smoothie is a lot more rewarding for lunch than getting a hot meal then going back into the hot temperatures only to feel groggy, full and oh my gosh. With the weather temperatures getting up to the 90’s and 100’s grabbing a hot lunch is good if you are in the air condition after you eat your meal. However, if you are out and about, say you are a journalist, police officer, mailman, student, uber driver, lyft driver, taxi driver or any other occupation that takes you in and out the air condition then it’s a bit warm for a hot lunch then going back into the hot temperatures.
Their are various types of juices and smoothies, plus you can always substitute an ingredient if you go to a shop. Let’s start with smoothies, the start is the base, the liquid in a smoothie is the base. The base, the liquid can be coconut milk, almond milk, rice milk, coconut water or apple juice. The ingredients are the vegetables and fruits. The add ins in the smoothie are the almond butter, chia seeds, honey, hemp seeds, whey protein power, pea powder. So, just to review in a smoothie we have three things: the base which is the liquid, we have the ingredients which are the fruits and/or vegetables and we have the add ins.
How are you going to determine what ingredients to use or are you just going to go with one of the menu items? What are the ingredients you will be using to to make a freshly squeezed juice or smoothie? The ingredients can be mixed with fruits and vegetables (say carrots and pineapple) or anything you want or is already determined by the shop,store menu. Are you going to put avocados or are you going to put carrots or bananas? I use www.google.com to find out what the benefits are for fruits and vegetables that I want to put in my smoothie or juice. I just key in “benefits of avocados” , “benefits of onions”, “benefits of bananas” and so on for what ever ingredients I want to put in my smoothie or juice. I google checked for bananas benefits and found that bananas are high in potassium. Pears reduce the risk of developing hypertension. Spinach is high in Vitamin A. Pineapple is high in Vitamin C . Watermelon replaces electrolytes. Celery is great for helping the skin glow. Beets are great and help heart muscles. Cactus also called nopales are great as an inflammatory and reduce high blood pressure. Sugar cane is “high in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and manganese.
Don’t forget to ask if the location you go to has a member club where you get points or punches for your fresh juice and/or smoothie purchase. If not well no problem, at least you asked. Their are various good smoothie shops and juice shops in just about every city. Plus some of the grocery stores have smoothie and juice bars. I think it is awesome in about 5 minutes wait you can get a bundle of carrots, beets and so on in a freshly squeezed juice and/or smoothie. Bam your lunch meal that is healthy, refreshing and cool is ready. Then on your way you go with your fresh squeezed juice and/or smoothie in your hand!
In conclusion having a hot meal for lunch is awesome if you do not have to go back out into the hot temperatures. However, a cool freshly squeezed juice and/or smoothie is sooooooo refreshing for anyone.
